A BRADFORD man committed to improving cancer care, treatment and support has secured a regional role to represent the interests of patients and communities.

Mike Frazer, of Apperley Bridge, is one of two new lay members appointed to the board of the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Cancer Alliance.

Mr Frazer, 67, is a retired civil servant. A widower, he cared for his wife, Anna, for two years until she died of acute myeloid leukaemia in 2016.

He is the lead for the Patient Participation Group at his local surgery with a particular interest in the better integration of services to reduce waiting times, and early diagnosis/treatment for cancer. He has also been involved in the production of a number of materials, including a social prescribing booklet to be issued by GPs to improve care for patients who are vulnerable or isolated.
