RICHMONDSHIRE is to get a dedicated business advisor to help the district’s economy grow.
Members of the council’s corporate board agreed to part fund the new post which will be spearheaded by the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).
The post is one of two new business advisors that will work across the Hambleton, Scarborough, Ryedale and Richmondshire districts.
They will focus on businesses with a turnover of between £1m and £50m that are willing to invest in the growth of their businesses.
Council Leader, Yvonne Peacock, said: “We have already identified around 121 businesses employing 4,000 people that will qualify for help.”
Members of the corporate board gave approval to the council’s £20,000 contribution last week.
