BINGLEY Town Council has created a new prospectus to try and lure more businesses to relocate to the town and to boost the profile of Bingley.

The new brochure is being officially unveiled at the Bingley Business Expo today, which showcases the skills, expertise and services of businesses based in the town and Aire Valley.

It is titled ‘Going Places... the advantages of bringing your business to Bingley’, and has been created by the Town Council in time for the Expo.

Some of the advantages about being based in Bingley the prospectus highlights include good transport connections by road, rail and air, a high proportion of well-educated residents of working age, new retailers moving into the town, the town already being home to more than 700 businesses employing more than 6,000 people, a wide range of housing and schools which achieve strong results.

It added a range of leisure and sports activities, and an “attractive location with heritage assets and stunning countryside” as attractions the town possesses.

Ros Dawson, chair of Bingley Town Council, said: “Our town is enterprising and energetic and this buzz means it’s becoming increasingly popular.

“In the two years since it was created, the Town Council has been working to improve the public realm and make our area an even more attractive place to live and work.

“With the prospectus, we will pro-actively contact employers, retailers and commercial professionals and encourage them to locate more business in Bingley.

“We are also delighted to support Bingley Business Expo by having a relevant, new publication to share with other exhibitors and delegates.”

Richard Holmes, honorary vice president of Bingley Chamber of Trade and Commerce, helped create the brochure, lending his expertise.

The former manager of Five Rise Shopping Centre added: “I know from first-hand experience what a tremendous place Bingley is with much untapped potential.

“I am delighted to be involved in this project which showcases what we offer and provides facts and figures that potential investors need to know.”

The brochure was designed and put together by a company based in Bingley, with the photographs used to illustrate it provided by Bingley Camera Club.
