A NEW delicatessen which stocks over 100 cheeses as well as dozens of other delicacies has opened its doors to customers in Stroud for the first time today.

Armadeli, in Union Street, boasts cheeses from the UK and Europe, over 50 different cured meats and a delicious range of chutneys, olives, antipasti and savoury biscuits.

Additionally, for anyone who enjoys a tipple, organic wines, beers and ciders are also bursting from the shelves.

The new business is on the site of the former Swan Pub, Union Street and the premises has been refitted and refurbished to create a welcoming atmosphere for customers.

Armorel Willoughby, owner of Armadeli, said that they were excited to be opening a new business in such a fantastic town.

“We are very excited to be opening Armadeli in Stroud.

"The town has a fantastic and rich mixtures of shops, bars and restaurants and we are very much looking forward to adding to this.

"We share a passion and interest in food and drink and we have spent a great deal of time sourcing a fantastic choice of products."

Aside from a well stocked deli counter customers at the Union Street business will be able to enjoy coffees, teas, a glass of wine, beer or cider to accompany a menu of snacks and light meals in the indoor and outdoor seating areas.

Armorel shared her hopes for the future: “Our first aim is to become a well known and respected part of the Stroud community, we then hope to build the awareness and increase online sales of hampers and cheese celebration cakes.

"Further ahead, who knows, there may even be more Armadeli delicatessens - but for now we are very much looking forward to meeting and serving the people of Stroud."
