HIGH street restaurant Pizza Express has revealed it will be opening its first Bradford branch in the city centre.

The chain will take on a unit under The Light cinema, on Broadway.

The company has submitted plans to Bradford Council to install signage on the unit next to the entrance to the cinema, which opened in May.

The application shows that the restaurant will have 22 indoor seats and an outdoor seating area for 26 diners.

When the cinema was built as an extension to The Broadway Shopping Centre, it included space for a number of restaurants and cafes on the ground floor.

The units have remained empty, although Specsavers has announced it is moving into one of the spaces.

Previously Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Tortilla had expressed interest in the units.
