A PROFESSOR at the University of Bradford has been nominated for a major award by one of her PhD students.
Professor of Sociology Chrissie Rogers, pictured, has been shortlisted for the Outstanding Research Supervisor of the Year award at the THE Awards, which are widely recognised as the Oscars of higher education sector.
Professor Rogers said: “I feel humbled to be shortlisted among five other academics, particularly as it is a national award and across disciplines.
“But importantly, for this award, it is never simply about the supervisor but the relationships that are built with our research students who all come to the table with different biographies, histories and cultures.
“I can simply respond to their needs as a mentor and guide them through their own pathway in the hope they flourish.
“It is a privilege to work with such an array of talents.”
