ARMED police swooped on a Bradford street this afternoon.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said officers were called to North Avenue just before 3pm following reports of a person with a machete.

The spokesman said four males have been detained.

One person arrested for a public order offence.

Armed police responded but no weapons were found.

A number of police vehicles could be seen on North Avenue and a man, flanked by police, was led from a courtyard off Queen's Road into a waiting police van.
