A motorist caught by police driving at 90mph and undertaking vehicles on a motorway near Bradford told officers: “I need the loo desperately.”
The driver’s desire to reach a toilet was just one of several explanations offered for the scenes that had just unfolded on the eastbound M62.
Police footage shows a white saloon passing the traffic officer’s vehicle near junction 25 for Brighouse.
The vehicle then comes up behind slower moving traffic in the outside and middle lanes, so performs an undertaking move near the Hartshead Moor service area.
A tweet from the account of ‘Traffic Dave’ said: “The reason given by the driver for doing 90mph and undertaking was: a) I didn't realise I was going that fast.
b) I need the loo desperately.
c) The cars in front held me up.
d) It was on cruise control.
e) All of the above.
