THERE'S plenty to enjoy at this year's Saltaire Festival, which began yesterday and runs until next Sunday.

Launched in 2003, the event is now a firm fixture on the World Heritage Site's calendar, with art, music, dance, comedy, food and something for all age groups to get involved with.

This year's programme boasts a huge range of events, from rides in a sports or classic car to raise funds for the Bradford Royal Infirmary's Special Baby Care Unit and free 30-minute canoe rides along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal to poetry, a Lindy Hop night and 'Yard Fest', where acoustic acts play in a back yard.

This weekend includes pop-up events in houses and gardens, plus a sculpture trail.

The 29th Organic Fruit, Flower, Vegetable and Produce Show is also taking place at Shipley College today as part of the festival.

Next weekend will include a continental market on Exhibition Road, plus stalls and live music in Roberts Park.
