PARKINSON’S Park in Guiseley has its first heritage interpretation boards.
The boards are the culmination of a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee project sponsored by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The Friends of Parkinson’s Park (FOPP) received support from the fund’s Great British Story programme to research and bring to life the historical, geological and ecological events that have shaped the land from glacial ice sheets to Crompton Parkinson. A FOPP spokeswoman said: “The idea of the project was to tell ‘every man’s history’, and to help bring a sense of community back to an area that many people felt had lost some of its sense of place.”
