A TEENAGE girl from Oakworth has had a hair-erasing experience to help cancer patients.
Jade Waite took part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s Brave the Shave to raise money for the charity.
The 14-year-old lost her locks to show solidarity with friends and family who have had the disease.
“When one of our neighbours was also diagnosed with cancer that brought things home a bit and Jade decided she wanted to do something,” said her mum, Vikki. “I reeled off various fundraising ideas, like bake sales, but Jade went off to her bedroom to think about it and came back with the decision to do Brave the Shave!”
An online fundraising page was set-up, at bravetheshave.macmillan.org.uk/shavers/jade-waite, and that has coined-in around £1,170.
The fundraising page is still open for donations.
