BUSINESS people from across the Bradford have had an extensive tour of St George’s Hall, as it continues to undergo refurbishment work.
The visit was organised by the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, and led by Stone Edge, which is working on the restoration of the historic building.
Representatives from local firms in the property sector took part in the tour, to see the progress that has been made so far in the £8.5 million work.
Richard Denneny, managing director of Stone Edge, and site supervisor Tong Ewings led the tour, which took in the building’s rooftop, where the majority of rafters have been replaced, and the ornately decorated walls, which have been restored and damaged stones replaced.
Allan Booth, chair of Bradford Chamber Property Forum, said: “It was a most interesting visit and we’re thankful to Richard and his team for allowing us to distract them from their work.
“The refurbishment sch-eme and all those involved in it should be applauded for their work.”
