TRAVELLERS have set up camp on playing fields in Bradford.

When the Telegraph & Argus visited this morning, a number of caravans were parked up on the fields, which are used as football pitches, off Gaisby Lane, Shipley.

It's thought they moved on to the land last night.

Tony Miller, general manager at Bolton Woods Junior Football Club, said he had been in touch with Bradford Council this morning and was told legal procedures have been taken.

A number of football teams, plus a cricket team, use the playing field.

Mr Miller said: "It not only affects us, it affects the whole community."

He said that it would also cost money as teams would have to be transferred to Goals on Kings Road and it may also cause postponements.

"It will have a big impact," Mr Miller added.

He said it was hoped the group would be moved on as soon as possible.

Bradford Council has been contacted for a comment.
