A LAW firm with offices in Bradford is marking its 25th anniversary with a record year financially, with turnover up by more than a quarter.

Switalskis Solicitors, based in Scorex House, Bolton Road, was founded in Wakefield in 1993, has grown to a £15 million turnover business with 260 staff and 13 offices across the county.

The firm has also recently been shortlists for the Medium Law Firm of the Year in the Yorkshire Legal Awards, adding to a number of accolades it picked up at the recent Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards.

It has also marked its anniversary with a number of charity challenges, including the Tour de Swits, where 16 staff members rode 195 miles visiting ten of the firms offices and raising more than £10,000 for the Children's Heart Surgery Fund.

John Durkan, managing director, said: “In many ways, Switalskis is unrecognisable from the practice established in Wakefield 25 years ago.

"However, I’m incredibly proud to say that the growth we have achieved has not been at the expense of the firm’s core ethos of access to justice and a first-class legal service for all.

“We are investing significantly in attracting and retaining the highest calibre staff. This year we introduced our first Associate Development Programme, which saw the promotion of 12 new associates within the team last month.

“Following this year’s growth and everyone’s charitable efforts, we are marking our quarter century with a party for the team and a monthly staff lotto.

"Without them, our continued success simply wouldn’t be possible, and I’m very much looking forward to everybody having an opportunity to share in that success.”
