A PROFESSOR from the University of Bradford will be the guest of honour at an awards ceremony taking place tomorrow.

Professor Diana Anderson has been invited to the ceremony at Prosper Academy in Little Horton Lane by former student Mohammed Azhar Ishfaq.

At the event she will present certificates to students at his tuition centre, and inspire a new generation of scientists.

Mr Ishfaq graduated in biomedical sciences at Bradford in 2008 before qualifying as a science teacher and opening his own tutoring centre last year.

Prof Anderson said: “It is a great honour to be asked to present these awards.

“I love hearing how my former students are getting on and it is great Mohammed is now helping others to be successful in science.

“It is so important that we get more young people interested in science and encourage them to reach their potential.”

She will present 17 pupils with certificates.
