A two-year-old girl has died following a motorway crash involving a lorry and a car.
Nottinghamshire Police appealed for witnesses after the collision on the northbound stretch of the M1 between junctions 26 and 27, near Nottingham, at 3pm on Thursday.
The motorway was closed for more than six hours following the accident.
The little girl, from Yorkshire, had been travelling with her family in the car at the time.
She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police have also appealed to the public to come forward with any dashcam footage of the incident.
