THE changing landscape of Bradford will be the subject of an event organised by Bradford Civic Society.
As part of Heritage Open Days, the society will host an event in the Jamiyat Tabligh-UL-Islam mosque on Westgate titled New Geographies of Bradford.
Dr George Sheeran, a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Bradford, will examine how the city has changed, and how the architecture of Islam has given Bradford a new perspective.
The event looks at how changing industry and migration has shaped Bradford’s landscape and architecture. Dr Sheeran said: “Bradford is a good example of what I mean, since change there is not simply physical or economic, but cultural also. It is these changes that I shall be exploring in the course of this talk.”
The event, on September 8, starts at 11am. Anyone wanting to attend should register by visiting eventbrite.com/e/new-geographies-of-bradford-tickets-48948445117
