A CYCLIST who was found on a motorway said he was "trying to cycle from Bradford to Manchester."
The man was found on the M606 southbound, between Junction 1 and 2, at around 1:00pm by Highways England.
This followed reports to police of someone cycling on the motorway.
Highways England escorted the man from the busy carriageway.
It is believed he was heading towards the M606 flyover to get onto the M62 westbound after he told Highways Officers he was "trying to cycle from Bradford to Manchester."
The Highway Code states that cyclists are prohibited from using motorways.
