A BRADFORD school has been rated Outstanding by religious inspectors.

Bradford Forster Academy, in Fenby Avenue, Dudley Hill, received the rating from the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist School framework. It follows a Good rating by Ofsted in March.

Run by the Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust, the secondary school opened three years ago.

The report states: “BDAT, governors and senior leaders have quickly established a community where Christian values are celebrated and make a difference to the lives of the community.

“Academy leaders and governors are sensitive to the community they serve and aspirational for students. This extends beyond academic achievements to the well-being of the whole child.

“Parents appreciate the rich and diverse community that their children learn in and the opportunities they receive.

“Parents experience Bradford Forster as a welcoming school that works in partnership with them. Pupils are exceptionally proud of their many leadership roles in the Academy.

“The vast majority of pupils expressed their enjoyment of being in school.”

Wendy Adeniji, Head of School at Bradford Forster, said: “We are really pleased with this result.

“Building a school vision and ethos which reflects our school Christian values and secures a Bradford Forster community for our pupils has underpinned all we have done in the years since opening.

“It is fantastic to have a report that recognises the pride and aspiration both staff and students feel for the Academy.”

Carol Dewhurst, chief executive of Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust, added: “From before opening the Trust vision was to establish Bradford Forster as a hub for their local community where children could have a happy education and leave with great outcomes.

“After three short years, it is really pleasing to watch this vision become a reality – it represents a real success story for all those staff and students who have been committed and worked hard to be a part of the schools journey this far.”

The National Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools is a church-led inspection framework which considers how church schools are using their underpinning Christian values and ethos to deliver inspiring and engaging learning experiences for students. Schools are judged on both the effectiveness of their provision and the distinctiveness of their delivery.
