WEEKEND tickets for this year's Bingley Music Live festival have officially sold out, Bradford Council has revealed.

After two phases of ticket sales, all full weekend tickets have been snapped up, with just day tickets now remaining.

This year's festival has been the fastest selling in its 12 year history, breaking the record set last year, with music fans urged to by their tickets as soon as they can to avoid disappointment.

Bingley Music Live takes place from Friday, August 31, to Sunday, September 2, in Myrtle Park in the town, with headliners Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Jake Bugg, and Shed Seven.

Child tickets for the full weekend sold out in April, with demand so high day tickets and the festival schedule released at the end of June, significantly earlier than usual.

Britpop icons Shed Seven will top the bill on Friday, with Nottingham's Jake Bugg headlining on Saturday. Noel Gallagher - one half of the legendary Oasis - will close the festival on Sunday night with his High Flying Birds.

Other artists performing on Friday include the Lightning Seeds, The Sherlocks, Pale Waves and Gomez.

Saturday sees West Yorkshire-rockers The Cribs, Melanie C, Spector, Ray Boy and PiL take to the stage, while on Sunday local Bingley band Marmozets, Peace, Pulled Apart By Horses and Black Honey will all be playing.

Crowds will also get the chance to discover their new favourite bands on the Discovery Stage, where artists including The Night Cafe, Queen Zee, Bad Sounds, Touts, Wild Front, Nerina Pallot, Sea Girls, Rosborough and Bryde will all be playing.

Local artists will also be playing, as the winners of the Emerging Talent competition, Ego Stages and Critical Reaction open the main stage on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, and Glue and Kilsney Green do the same on the Discovery Stage.

Adult day tickets cost £45 for the Friday and £50 for Saturday or Sunday, with child day tickets costs £30.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, executive member for healthy people and places, said: “The line-up for this year’s festival is so good it’s no wonder that all the weekend tickets have been snapped up in record time.

"It’s looking likely that this year’s festival will be a sell out so I would urge people who are wanting a ticket to hurry up before it’s too late.”
