A BABY porcupine is the first of its species to be born at Brookfield Zoo in Chicago.
The zoo in the US city's western suburbs said the male baby porcupine, known as a porcupette, was born on July 2.
He weighed almost 1lb, and had soft quills that hardened after a few days.
Brexit blow to plan
TORY Eurosceptics have hit back at Theresa May by tabling amendments to a key Brexit Bill which could kill off her Chequers plan for future relations with the EU.
The four amendments to the crucial Customs Bill were put down a day before Thursday's publication of a White Paper setting out the Prime Minister's plans, which infuriated Leavers and prompted the resignation of Cabinet ministers Boris Johnson and David Davis.
