THREE nurseries in the district could start admitting children as young as two if admissions policies are changed tomorrow.

Bradford Council’s Executive will decide whether to change the lower age range of children attending Hirst Wood Nursery School, Lilycroft Nursery School in Manningham and Strong Close Nursery School in Keighley from 3 - 5 years to 2 – 5 years.

Hirst Wood asked the council to lower the age range to allow it to create 36 part time 2-year-old places. Lilycroft governors say the change would create 64 part time 2-year-old places.

The alliance that runs Strong Close Day Nursery recently closed the provision, and so neighbouring Strong Close Nursery School wants its age limit lowered so it can create 48 part time 2-year-old places to maintain a local provision.

The Executive meets in City Hall at 10.30am tomorrow.
