GRASS fires broke out again on Baildon Bank last night.

For the second time this week, fire crews were called to the location to tackle the flames.

Firefighters were present for an hour and a half tackling the fires, at several points on the bank, with one pump.

The fires broke out overnight, with crews responding at 3.30am this morning.

The news comes just days after another fire damaged an award-winning garden of a local resident in Bank View.

Lynne Sugden, 69, tried to battle Monday's fire with a garden hose after calling the fire brigade.

Mrs Sugden had reportedly asked the fire service for an appointment to discuss how to protect her home and other vulnerable properties in the area from fire.
