A MAN suffered burn injuries after a car he was driving crashed and caught fire in Bradford last night.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Bolton Road just after 9pm.

A spokesman for the Cleckheaton fire crew, which attended the scene, said a man driving a Vauxhall Astra had crashed into some parked cars, causing his vehicle to catch fire.

The man, who police said was aged in his 60s, was taken out of his car by a passer-by before receiving treatment by fire crews and paramedics.

He was said to have suffered minor burns to his left arm and scalp, and smoke inhalation.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance. 

Police confirmed that the other cars damaged in the crash were a silver Skoda, a red Mazda, and another Vauxhall Astra.
