MOUNTAIN rescue teams have helped free a man who had become trapped on a path near East Riddlesden Golf Course.

Paramedics from Yorkshire Ambulance Service who were called to the incident in the early hours of this morning requested assistance from the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association and the Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team just before 1.50am.

The man was reported to be stuck and unable to move.

A spokesman for the Calder Valley rescue team said that once volunteers arrived, two fell parties conducted a "rapid path search" and found the man within 17 minutes.

He was assessed at the scene by the ambulance crews and then able to walk out to the ambulance to receive further care.
