BRADFORD Council says it has addressed complaints about the poor state of a footpath in Haworth.

The condition of the path, which runs between West Lane and Church Street, was raised at a Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council meeting. Residents of Heathcliff, off West Lane, told parish councillors the path’s surface was in such a bad state even dogs would not walk on it.

Responding after the meeting, a Bradford Council spokesman said: “Following requests from residents and councillors, works were carried out last week by the council to make the required improvements to a section of footpath.

“Work had been carried out on the footpath last year by Community Payback, funded by the parish council on behalf of residents.

“Unfortunately, due to no fault of Community Payback, the limestone material used didn’t bind together and left larger material on the surface of the path, causing it to be uneven.”
