PLANS to turn a retail unit in Keighley town centre into a take away have been refused by Bradford Council.
A planning application called for the unit on Brown Street, opposite Keighley Central Mosque, to be converted into a hot food take away.
But the scheme, submitted by Irfan Meherban, was refused by planners at the Council, who said the new business would cause an "unacceptable loss of amenity" for people living in neighbouring houses.
They said the take away would cause: "Increased comings and goings of customers, including at unsocial hours, increased vehicular activity and the emission of cooking odours."
Another reason for refusal given by planners was that there was a "lack of appropriate locations for the storage or collection of trade refuse bins."
