A DRIVER has escaped with minor injuries after crashing into railings near a pedestrian crossing in Guiseley.
Police closed part of Leeds Road to recover debris from the collision, which occured earlier this afternoon.
Pictures released by the West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit (RPU) show the damaged car after it had come to a stop on the central reservation of the crossing.
The female driver was treated for minor injuries, and no other vehicle was said to have been involved.
On Twitter, RPU officers said: "This is what happened when the driver's foot hit the accelerator not the brake.
"She sustained minor injuries only and nobody else was injured."
