BRADFORD will fall silent to mark the first anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire disaster on Thursday.

A minute’s silence will be held in Centenary Square at midday.

The service will be attended by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Zafar Ali, and the Dean of Bradford, the Very Reverend Jerry Lepine (pictured).

The Lord Mayor will say a few words of introduction at 11.55am, with the Dean of Bradford beginning the marking of the silence at noon.

The service will conclude with a brief prayer.

All are welcome to attend to observe the silence and pay their respects.

The blaze claimed the lives of 72 people, and a judge-led inquiry into the disaster is currently taking place.
