A WALK is to be held at St Ives to explain more about the tree felling process at the estate.

More than 1,000 trees had to be chopped down in Betty's Wood to prevent the further spread of a disease which kills a number of species.

Space left by the felling will be replanted with tree species, including elm, ash and birch.

Andrew Cutts, assistant tree and woodland manager at Bradford Council, will lead a stroll around Betty's Wood on Wednesday, June 20.

He will discuss why the trees were felled and what the future plans for the woods are.

People will also be able to ask questions and all are welcome to attend.

The walk will begin at 6pm at the bottom car park.
