A FUN day inspired by the late MP Jo Cox will be held in Baildon on Saturday - the second anniversary of her death.

Inspired by the Jo Cox Foundation’s ‘Great Get Together,’ the fun day will be held at Cliffe Avenue Park between 2pm and 4pm.

There will be live music, a bouncy castle, BBQ, cakes by Baildon Belles, face painting, mask making, tombola and numerous stalls from local groups and businesses.

People are encouraged to bring their own picnics.

Music performances include All Together Now Yorkshire at 2pm, Hall Royd Band at 2.40pm and May Contain Notes, who will play at 3.40pm.

The event has been organised by Baildon Community Link and was inspired by Jo Cox’s “More in Common” philosophy.

Mrs Cox, the MP for Batley and Spen, was killed in Birstall on June 16 2016 by local resident Thomas Mair. Mair, who had links to far right groups, targeted the MP due to her political views.

Since then groups across the country have hold events in her memory.
