A FAMILY food company in Bradford has donated more than 3,000 bottles of mango juice to be distributed alongside cakes which people are buying to support a charity in Pakistan.

Waqar Younis, sales director of Regal Foods, in Wallis Street, said he was pleased to donate the juice to Abdul Satar and his friend, Amjad Akram, who organise the distribution of chocolate fudge cakes and strawberry gateau during Ramadan.

The cakes are delivered directly to people's doors and all the profits raised go towards AKAB school and orphanage for the blind, in Mirpur, which Mr Satar visited last year.

This year, each cake comes with a litre of mango juice for no extra cost.

Mr Satar, who runs the Office Furniture Company, is one of the founders of the Feeding the Homeless organisation which is based at the Millside Centre, off Thornton Road, and serves hot food and drinks to the homeless and disadvantaged each Sunday.

Regal Foods, which has been operating in the city for 17 years, donates cakes, naans and drinks each week and Mr Satar asked Mr Younis if he wanted to donate to the cakes fundraising.

Mr Younis said: "I was delighted to donate the drinks to Abdul when he approached me.

"The community has to benefit from those in business and we want to be a family business to be proud of."

Mr Satar added: "We are very grateful to Regal Foods for their generosity and their continued donations to charity.

"The cakes we have been selling for Ramadan have been very successful and we have been delivering them much further afield."
