A MAN has been arrested after 100 cannabis plants were found inside industrial units in Birstall.

Police discovered a large cannabis farm in the the units on Smithies Moor Lane on Tuesday.

Plants at various stages of growth were found in different rooms of the units, and these have now been seized by police.

A man, 54, was arrested on suspicion of production of Class B drugs. Enquiries are ongoing.

Sergeant Anita Patel of Batley and Spen Neigbourhood Policing Team said: “We want to reassure the community that all the information we receive from members of the public will always be reviewed and when possible take positive action.

“I would like to thank the people in our communities who came forward with vital information related to this incident, which has led to a significant amount of drugs been seized and taken off the streets in our community.

“Any information about suspicion of production of drugs, can be given to your local NPT via 101 or anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
