Fire crews dealt with a major woodland fire in Cottingley
A LARGE area of woodland has been badly damaged by a fire thought to have been started deliberately.
Crews from Bingley, Keighley and Shipley stations were called to the Cottingley Wood Estate at 5pm yesterday after reports of a fire in the woods.
When they arrived they found that an area measuring 200 metres by 200 metres were ablaze.
They remained at the scene until 9pm to prevent the fire from spreading any further.
It is thought that the fire was started deliberately.
