THE Country Land and Business Association is urging the Government to focus on boosting economic growth and productivity in National Parks at the centre of its recently announced review.
The Government has announced a review of designated landscapes, including National Parks, as part of its 25-Year Environment Plan.
One of the National Parks is the Yorkshire Dales, which stretches from the Bradford district and covers 841 sq miles.
Tim Breitmeyer, president of the CLA, said: “Designated landscapes are crucial to the wellbeing of the nation, providing opportunities for visitors and those who live and work there.
“The crucial challenge is to strike the right balance between ensuring designation that delivers natural beauty, alongside encouraging the right types of economic activity.”
