A FIRE engulfed part of a former special school when it was set alight by vandals.
Firefighters were called to the derelict Heaton Royds Special School, in Redburn Drive, Shipley, at 8pm on Wednesday.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was contained to the roof of one building and they prevented it from spreading any futher by using two large jet reels.
He added: "It's a derelict school and something needs to be done in that area.
"I think the neighbours are quite upset with the vandalism and it's the second or third time we have been there in the last few weeks."
