A BRADFORD man has been ordered to pay £1,000 compensation after breaking a man’s jaw in two places with a single punch.

Stuart Spence required two lots of surgery after he was punched by Stuart Jackson, 34, while both were in the Ginger Goose pub, in Bradford city centre, on July 29 last year.

Jackson, of Harland Close, who had no previous convictions or cautions, admitted causing grievous bodily harm to Mr Spence during an unprovoked altercation.

Sentencing Jackson at Bradford Crown Court, Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC told him he believed he was remorseful and shocked over the injury he caused.

“I think this whole incident has been terrifying for you, however, whatever was going on between you blokes you don’t hit someone so hard you break their jaw,” he said.

Jackson, was ordered to pay a fine of £1,000 and costs of £140.
