AN ILKLEY brewery has celebrated the arrival of next month's Tour de Yorkshire by creating a new beer dedicated to the race.
Wharfdale brewery has come up with the ‘King o’t Mountains’ blonde ale in association with cycle brand Fat Lad at the Back.
The pint will be available at their flagship pub The Flying Duck in Ilkley as well as others in the Wharf Valley.
King o’t Mountains blonde is a straw coloured blonde session ale weighing in at an ABV of 3.9%; it combines English malts with a blend of New Zealand and American hops "to create a lingering citrus grapefruit flavours and a fresh satisfying bitter finish."
Jonathan Shepherd, from the brewery, said: “We’re expecting an influx of cycling fans and spectators and wanted to mark the occasion with a special beer with our friends Fat Lad at the Back.
