A GROUP is looking to raise £260 to restore a recently discovered roll of honour that once hung in the former Methodist Church, at Farnhill.
Sixty local WW1 servicemen are named on the roll and the Farnhill WW1 Volunteers Project launched an appeal for its restoration.
Committee member, Helen Moran said:“We would like to thank local Methodists and residents for helping us get off to a good start. We have so far received donations and pledges totalling £145.
“We were always aware that the Farnhill Methodist Church once had a WW1 roll of honour as the local history group has a photograph of it. It was unexpectedly handed in at one of our project events, by a former member of the church who had saved it.”
