THREE people have been sentenced for drugs offences in Bradford.

Danial Khan, 23, who is currently serving a 38-month prison sentence for unrelated matters, Imran Khan, 22, of Trenton Drive, White Abbey and Stacey Ross, 29, of Scholes Street, Bankfoot, appeared before Bradford Crown Court yesterday.

Danial Khan had pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, Imran Khan pleaded guilty to three counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, plus dangerous driving, while Ross pleaded guilty to possession of Class A drugs.

Prosecutor Deborah Smithies told the court the offences unfolded in June 2016, when Danial Khan was involved in the sale of Class A drugs to people on the streets of Bradford.

He would take orders by telephone - those making orders made calls from kiosks to a designated drugs line which was a number manned by Danial Khan.

On taking each order, he would then make contact with others who would deliver the drugs in exchange for money, with the drugs stored and prepared at his house at Byron Halls, Barkerend.

Ms Smithies said Danial Khan had contacted Imran Khan on two occasions following a drugs order. On June 1, Danial Khan was seen passing Imran Khan something through a window. Imran Khan's car was stopped by officers and they found £150 in cash and the phone used to make calls to Danial Khan. Two loose wraps of crack cocaine and heroin were found in Ross's underwear, with a street value of around £15 and £40.

Then on June 11, officers in an unmarked vehicle saw Imran Khan coming out of Danial Khan's home. He was detained and searched, with officers finding a kinder egg container holding 20 packs of crack cocaine.

A search of Danial Khan's property found 51.3g of crack cocaine. His fingerprints were also found on food bags containing crack cocaine.

Imran Khan was also sentenced for dangerous driving in an incident on May 11 last year on the Shipley Airedale Road. The court heard he stuck his tongue out at police officers, accelerated away reaching speeds of 70 to 80mph per hour and had to break heavily to avoid hitting an elderly man crossing the road.

Shufqat Khan, for Danial Khan, who has 12 previous convictions, said his client has had chance to reflect and said he was putting his life of crime behind him.

While the court heard heard Imran Khan, who has a previous conviction for theft, was later seriously injured in a crash which has had a "profound" impact on his life, resulting him using a wheelchair, suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and moderate to severe depression.

Judge Durham Hall sentenced Danial Khan to 40 months imprisonment, to run concurrent to his current prison sentence.

Imran Khan, who the court heard had turned to selling drugs to pay off a debt, was handed a two-year sentence, suspended for two years. Ross, a long-term drug addict with 20 previous convictions to her name, was handed a nine-month sentence, suspended for 12 months.
