AT HISTORIC East Riddlesden Hall yesterday, there was an Anglo Saxon 'invasion'.
Staff at the 17th-century National Trust property were joined by members of the English Companions society for an action-packed day.
"It was a chance for visitors to take a step back in time with us to the fifth century and learn what life was like for the Anglo-Saxons who once walked the grounds here," said a spokesman.
Children could dress-up and take part in activities such as shield and bracelet making.
There was also a display of artefacts.
