Saltaire Writers' Group has announced the winners of its Flash Fiction and Poetry Competition held last autumn.
In the Flash Fiction section, first prize went to Russell Lloyd, of Leeds, for ‘To Love, Honour and Maybe’. Second prize went to John Ellis of Alwoodley for ‘Half-Term’.
In the Poetry section, first prize went to Kevin Holloway, of Heaton, for ‘ Starlings’ and second prize went to John Ellis, of Alwoodley, for ‘Grandad. February 1963’.
A runner-up acknowledgement was given to Kevin Holloway for ‘Curlew’.
Judges were Alyson Faye and Cathy Benson.
