ALTERNATIVE cost-cutting plans are due to be unveiled by Bradford Council’s opposition Conservatives tomorrow.

The Tories were today putting finishing touches to their proposed budget amendments.

Group leader, Councillor Simon Cooke (pictured), said the Labour budget had done little “to address concerns in children’s services” and the Tory proposals would probably suggest changes in this area.

The Labour budget, and any amendments tabled by opposition parties, will be debated and put to the vote at the annual budget meeting of the Full Council, which is being held at City Hall on Thursday from 4pm.

The Liberal Democrats will not be tabling any amendments at the meeting. But Councillor Jeanette Sunderland, leader of the group, said they disagreed with the spending plans, accusing Labour of prioritising “pet projects”.
