A MAN says he has been left stressed and frustrated after authorities wrongly claimed he was dead.
Arkadiusz Raczynski, 37, made the shocking discovery when he went on to the HM Revenue and Customs website to check on his tax accounts last month. When he went to check on his documents online, a link to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) said: “We have been told that Arkadiusz Raczynski is deceased so we can’t show the information you are expecting.
“You can contact us for help with tax after someone dies.”
Mr Raczynski says that convincing the authorities he is still alive is proving more difficult than you'd expect.
He said it is causing him problems finding a job and he moved from his native Poland to Bradford in 2005 and has previously worked in the city as a machine operator.
Mr Raczynski said: “It is causing me a headache. This is causing problems for me. My family in Poland can’t believe it.”
A HMRC spokesperson said: “When we let a customer down, we always apologise and put matters right.”
