FIREFIGHTERS are at the scene of a blaze at a scrap metal firm in Bradford.
Chris Tonge said he was weighing in a car at EMR Bradford, Planetrees Road, when he heard a "big bang" and then saw plumes of black smoke.
A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said firefighters from Bradford, Shipley and Fairweather Green were called to the scene at around 11.55am.
Watch Commander Darren Creighton, from Shipley fire station, said: "The fire is surrounded. It's contained within a metal baling machine, approximately 20m x 20m, it has got scrap cars on top of it."
He said the fire started in a bailing machine, but it's not currently known how the blaze began and investigations will begin once crews can get inside it.
A crane is being used to remove the scrap metal and firefighters are likely to be there for the rest of the afternoon.
He said everyone was evacuated safely, with everyone accounted for.The company was fully re-opened today, when contacted by the Telegraph & Argus.
