A SCHOOL which was branded inadequate by Ofsted has improved its safeguarding procedures according to inspectors.
Inspectors visiting Wycliffe Primary School on Saltaire Road in July 2017 said it had poor leadership, weak safeguarding, monitoring and training.
Following a recent visit by Ofsted in January, inspectors said the interim head teacher has worked with "determination" to improve safeguarding.
The report said safety features like fencing around the playground and high handles on doors have "vastly improved pupils' safety".
Interim headteacher Carol McDermott said: “The safeguarding of our children is a top priority for the school. We are pleased that Ofsted has recognised the work that is going on to ensure pupils are kept safe is effective. We will now build on this to ensure Wycliffe Primary School delivers the very best education and care for all its pupils.”
Cllr Imran Khan, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Education, Employment and Skills, said the report recognises staff's hard work.
