POLICE investigators are liaising with the family of a man who died after a crash that followed a police chase.
The 22-year-old, who has yet to be officially named by West Yorkshire Police, suffered serious injuries in a crash at around 11:55pm on Friday in Highgate Road at its Junction with Union House Lane, in Queensbury. He later died from his injuries.
It is thought the car was stolen and was being pursued by police at the time.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct is investigating.
A spokesman for the IOPC said: “We deployed investigators to the scene and post incident procedures and have statements from the officers involved and witnesses.
“Our investigators have met with the man’s family to make them aware of the investigation and offer support, and our sympathies are with them at this difficult time.”
