A MAN is facing a custodial sentence after admitting an assault in Bradford from almost two years ago.
Imaar Rashid, 22, was due to stand trial at Bradford Crown Court today but decided to change his intended plea.
He pleaded guilty to assaulting Hamza Ali thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
The incident took place in Bradford on February 29, 2016.
Prosecutor Howard Shaw said prosecution witnesses in the case had attended court to give evidence in the trial, but John Batchelor, mitigating, asked for his client to be re-arraigned so he could admit the offence.
Mr Batchelor said that Rashid, of Brantwood Grove, Heaton, Bradford had also pleaded guilty to a charge of dangerous driving and needed to be sentenced for all matters .
The Recorder of Bradford, Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC, granted Rashid bail ahead of a sentencing hearing set to take place tomorrow.
