A FLOOD alert has been issued for the River Aire north of Crossflatts.
Residents have been warned that flooding is possible following rainfall in the area.
The Environment Agency said rain is expected to last into the afternoon and evening.
Washlands in the Upper Aire are expected to fill at around 7pm and river levels are predicted to peak at around 8.30pm.
The Environment Agency is monitoring the situation and has advised people to be prepared.
