We'll be posting two months worth each day from now until New Year's Eve, with a full rundown of the year's most read stories on New Year's Day.
Without further ado, here's a flavour of what you were reading in July...
David Hockney's 80th birthday celebrations
Celebrations took place around Bradford to mark the 80th birthday of local legend David Hockney.
The artist, who was born in the city and now lives in Los Angeles, is considered by many to be the best living painter in the world.
Although he didn’t make it to his hometown, Bradford did plenty to celebrate in his absence, not least the opening of the David Hockney Gallery in Cartwright Hall.
'Serious racist abuse' took place at primary school, says Ofsted
A primary school in Keighley was put into special measures after a highly critical inspection found there was regular bullying and racist abuse.
Nessfield Primary was judged inadequate in every category.
Bradford Council said parents would find the report “concerning” but said steps to improve the school had already been taken, and a new leadership team had recently been brought in.
'Superpub' plans lodged in Wibsey
Former Bradford City chairman Mark Lawn and his business partner Kelly Shaw divided public opinion in Wibsey with their plans to join together the Market Tavern and Wibsey Sports and Social Club to create a new 'superpub'.
Some locals were concerned about opening hours and noise.
The plans were eventually passed in a revised form that will see the two venues remain separate.
Winners of T&A Bradford Means Business Awards announced
A glittering evening showcasing the best of Bradford's businesses rounded off an excellent Bradford Means Business Awards ceremony where shortlisted companies vied for top honours in 10 corporate categories.
Top prize, the 'Winner of Winners', went to cyber-security firm ECSC, which also landed Job Creator of the Year.
'Lunatics' condemned as footage emerges of 'car surfing' in busy street
Is it a bird, is it a plane... no, it's some doofus sprawled across a car windscreen! Only in Bradford...
The stunt was branded “idiotic” and “reckless”, while the motorist who submitted the footage, which has also been submitted to police through Operation Steerside, said he had never seen anything so stupid in his life.
